It sounds like you are making really good progress, I have made it 5 weeks so far and it is great! I fell better and do not constantly crave a smoke every 10
or 20 minutes. Its great to be free from that addiction. I smoked probably 28 years. I am looking younger and feel better. It really helps to read the books
and everything on the website. thanks for your support.
brandiva I hear your pain... But do not forget to add the benefits of not smoking in the last four days... It has been four days as well for myself and I feel
so much better already. Smoking takes so much away from you that you do not notice until you be off them for a few days. Yes that nicotine is some bad stuff,
that is why the put it into cigs to hook us. For folks that are really sick of this terrible addiction and habit this site can help them. Prayer does wonders
as well. You can not cheat with cigs one puff and start over... Never give up trying to quit. Heck just the savings every month will get your attention at
today's prices.
I have smoked for 20 years!! I have been smoke free for 4 days!.. I am so proud of my children, for keeping me responisble. In the past- I have always
tried to quit, but this time I have sworn (yes even with my pinkie) to NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF!!! never ever- cuz one puff is having to start over..I am so
glad I found the why quit website.. Lots of great information of what to expect.. the cyring on day 1... the sobbing on day 2... the crying on day 3..
day 4 - still emotional.. but its getting better, I think all the oranges I have eaten have helped. Every time I want a smoke- I eat oranges. I think I have
downed, 15 since monday. Anyone out there ever heard of that?
I hope to find some help in the blog.. As a first time blogger..

Congratulations on quitting, a fantastic decision, read here or at www.whyquit.com, it really is all about the education and understanding our addiction.
Back in 2000 my Dad passed away from emphysema from a lifetime of smoking. I promised him I would quit and did for 11 months. 11 months later one puff and one
cig later was right back on them stronger than ever.
This time will be different no matter what life throws at me never another puff here.. IT'S OVER THIS TIME....
Thank you for your support site here..
PS... For all you folks trying to quit and reading these threads once you can get through the nicotine withdrawals it's just mind over matter thing from
there... BE STRONG..

Hello,
I quit on OCT.28th at 9pm I also smoked for 35 yrs and everytime I would quit it would be the one puff thing and there I was again hooked. I really want to
stay clean but it's hard and if I have friends who are quitting it will makw it easier Thanks MG
I know how you feel I can NEVER take just a PUFF it's over if I do today is day 18 for me and I would really like a cigarette. I'm over the nicotine
it's just the habit of lightening something up. Hard not to but this is my 100th time because I have failed just like you with the one puff thing HANG ON
and don't ever take another puff.
First day on the site and I'm kind of scared about it. I've quit and relapsed more times than I can count. I am certain this is the site for me. Never
Take Another Puff. I think I need to get that tattooed on my cigarette hand (left). Every time I've ever relapsed it's been from "one puff"
after months of not smoking, and then the slide begins. So I'm three days clean now, and ready to go.

Hello, first post for me, after reading and absorbing all the material on this site. I'm 9 days clean now, it's the first day where I'm feeling
human again! my light head and time distortion has almost disappeared completely. It's been a hell of a week but thanks to this site, I have been able to
fight every withdrawl symptom, the nicotine monster has been able to throw at me! I'm left with some sleeping irregularities and some constipation, but I
know it will pass, along with only a couple of daily cravings. I have smoked since I was 14, I am now 48, that's 34 years of the ball and chain! However
in 1990 I did decide to give it up, at that timeI used a nicotine patch for a couple of weeks and actually was successful, and did not smoke for 5 and a half
years! As the kids got older and we started to go camping with them , I was dumb enough to think that I had beat my "habit" and thought I could just
smoke when camping , around the campfire. Boy was I wrong! Within a few months I was smoking two packs again daily. Late 2005 I tried to quit , again using an
NRT for a couple of weeks. I managed to last only 5 months, again stupid enough to think a couple of cigarettes were not going to have any effect on me cause
this time I knew that I could get hooked again, " so I would only have a couple, I had control over this" Well.. you know the story, within a short
while I was back up to almost two packs a day! I'm clean this time Cold Turkey . Thanks to this site I now know never to take another puff! I'm one
puff away from two packs a day. This time I am a recovering nicotine addict, it will never change I will never have another puff of that crap! I'm looking
forward to posting here for many years to come. Nicotine should be illegal! This site should have some Government funding in order to promote it on
TV,newspapers , billboards , bars , etc. How can we help with that? i would be willing to do my share.
